May 31, 2021 is Memorial Day, a federal holiday that many of us will enjoy as a day off from work as part of a long weekend. And weekends are to be enjoyed. This holiday, however, is a day dedicated to honoring those who died in service to our country.

It is with deep sorrow that we inform you that on Friday, May 14, MVAT Foundation Chairman Don Schwarz passed away.

Let us remember that Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day” on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of the Great War (subsequently referred to as World War I).

The MVAT Foundation’s first ever virtual fundraiser, A Celebration of the American Veteran, will take place on Sunday, November 8 at 5:00pm PST.
